Had not been to the store or ordered anything for months because of the terrible customer service received a few months ago (the reinvention of bree). I went to pick up my an online order and I called before I went to the store. Amanda was very friendly on the phone and in person. New manager and new workers. Good experience.
I went to avenue to return an item that didn't fit. The cashier didn't seem to know how to make a return. she then asked the manager on duty if this will make their sales for the day go down. the manager said no. ( I know that it will make sales for the day go down because I have worked retail. I think the manager was just trying not to make a big deal out of it). The cahier is a skinny black girl with fake hair. she started to sing swing low sweet chariot and then as she was getting the key to open the dressing room for me she said edges snatched then I realized she was talking about my hair which I wear in it's natural state and it's beautiful it's REAL and I love it. Then after she opened the dressing room door she suggested that I pull this heavy square bench into the dressing room. I told her that's ok. Avenue will lose me as a customer if this dumb girl who doesn't know the meaning of customer service remains an employee. The dressing room was also dirty as always. during the summer if I'm not wearing socks I refuse to try on pants because I don't want my feet to touch the dirty floor
Why is the store closed at 7:45pm but advertises open until 8:00pm. This is the third time happening. If you don't want our business, close down.
I visit this store frequently as I travel to and from this area due to I live in northern Indiana without an Avenue. More frequently than not you visit the store and noone greets or offers assistance for one. Then last night on my most recent and LAST time I will ever shop here the store looked like it was going out of buisness, lots less racks, markdown racks galore, and no shoes on display shelves. Nevertheless I proceeded to register to make a return to which I spent the next 20 minutes waiting for sales clerk to make phone calls on how to do return "Cuz she ain't wanna get in no trouble." To me it was a simple return. Two dresses with ALL the tags on them. Happened to bring wrong online receipt due to buying identical dresses in two separate sizes to see which fit the best. The dresses rang up in the system but she denied to do return. I even told her I paid less than what ringing up and just wanted to return them for what I paid. Online account and called customer service who both verified purchase and she still refused return. A 5 minute interaction turned into 20 plus minutes making me late for dinner plans and leaving WITHOUT making the return AND purchasing other items. I am not giving any more business where the customer can not be served. I highly suggest better and proper training of your staff. Lane Bryant your competition sure knows how to and to keep full shelves...
